TRREB has developed a COVID-19 property tax deferral schedule for every Greater Toronto Area municipality for your convenience and use. It also includes links to their respective websites for more details on the deferrals, and links to the various municipal COVID-19 information centres. We know how difficult it can be to track all of this information so we hope you find this resource useful.
Ajax
Schedule: 60 Days Deferral for all residents and businesses – May and June no interest generated

Aurora
Schedule: Penalties on taxes will be temporarily suspended until Tuesday, June 30, 2020 for Residential Tax. Commercial tax bills can be deferred to June 23 without any penalties or interest being applied until June 30 by approval of the Treasurer if they demonstrate in writing that they have passed on this leniency to their tenants. This will be done on a case-by-case basis.

In addition, the June tax installment will be postponed from June to July, 2020 and staff will not proceed with any new tax collection actions between April 1 and November 1, 2020

Schedule: 60 Days Deferral Payment until June 1, 2020. Home owners can apply for property tax relief if they experience illness that results in loss of work, or if they are experiencing extreme poverty.
